LITE-UP Texas Program

Providing help for low-income Texans

If you’re a low-income resident and live in an area where you can choose your prepaid electricity service provider, you may be eligible for the LITE-UP Texas program.

Participants receive electrical service at discounted rates during the high usage months of May, June, July, August and September.

If you’re currently receiving Medicaid or SNAP, you qualify for LITE-UP Texas. If you’re not receiving these benefits, you still qualify for the program if your household income is at or below 125 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.

If you think you qualify based on household income (see info to the right), you can request an application by calling toll-free 1-866-454-8387. You can also print an application here.
